Oh what a night! Ninety four (94) racecars in competition. Sixteen heat races and nine feature events makes for a great night of race watching. Great races all night long in every class and we even had a guest class call and ask if they could come race, the sport compact class. We challenged them to bring at least 6 and they brought 7. They also loved the track they want to come back!

Best comment I overheard, “This track is nice, clean, we will be coming more often”. You just never know what I might hear in my travels to the pits, to the tower, to the office, to the concession, to the restrooms, to the suites, to the back of the pits (never fails I get called on the radio every time I get to the back of the pits and I am needed at the other end of the track).

Ron Hartford, a RacingKC.com Hall of Fame inductee, of I-70 Speedway fame was in attendance. Seeing Ron brought back great memories of the battles he, Randy Ainsworth, and Gary Ainsworth would put on in the asphalt modifieds 20 plus years ago. These last few weeks we have been blessed to have several ex-racers from other tracks in our midst. More and more people are finding out about the great racing and hospitality of I-35 Speedway.
Speaking of hospitality, we are blessed to have some of the greatest fans in the sport. If I ever figure out this Facebook Live stuff you might just see me filming you all. Why do I say we have the greatest fans because they watch the events at intermission. This past week it was the power wheel racers, the support from the fans for these young racers is amazing. Pat yourself on the back race fans you are helping support the next generation of racers!

More hospitality comes from our racers! Mentioned in the drivers meeting that Kids Night is coming August 5 and at the pay window several drivers made donations. We are family at I-35 Speedway! Thank you everyone for your donations!

This week is Kaster Celebration Night. On July 29 the Late Models are coming, the Late Models are coming, the Malvern Bank Late Models are coming. Remember last year, Andrew Kosiski got his first win in the series here at I-35 Speedway. Then the next week we celebrate Kids Night.
