Thank you Mother Nature – a week without looking at our smart phones/computers watching radar. Not only did Mother Nature treat us right she gave us a great weather to work on the racetrack property. Did anyone notice the changes this past week? There were actually four changes made for various portions of our racing community. For the pit crews and drivers did you notice you were sitting on newly painted pit bleachers? Did the race fans notice the additional new picnic tables? Some did they were in use all night. Did any of the drivers notice the new light signal in turn 3? How about the removal of a portion of the concrete pad leading to the pit grandstands? Yes every week the owners, Mike and Kyle Johnson strive to add features for the racing community.

All these new additions and yet the facility was cleaned, mowed, manicured, and the racetrack prepped. This tells you how busy the track staff is during the week.
As for the racing, ninety five cars checked in for competition. Sixteen A Mods were in competition for their two features both won by Dennis Elliott, twenty one B Mods were in action and the feature included close racing between the top 6 with Doug Keller getting to the checkered flag first, and Matt Dorssom conquered the nineteen car E-Mod field. All three of these classes will be competing in the 6th Annual McCarthy Autogroup Show Me Spectacular on October 10, 2015. The night also included the growing nine car field of the Grand National class won by Donnie Brown, the eleven car Hobby Stock class which was conquered by Josh Munsen, and the seven car Stock Car class which went green to checkered. The Midwest Vintage brought their eleven car class to compete and put on quite the race won by Jack Simmons.

After the races numerous drivers commented how great the track has been all year, consistently smooth. When the drivers love a track they will show up enforce.
This week we welcome back the Non-Wing Sprint cars. They were originally scheduled for last weekend but asked to move the race date due to the Knoxville Nationals and a W.A.R. race in Springfield. To avoid the conflict the Johnsons easily approved the schedule change. The Non Wing Sprints, along with the Midwest Outlaw Lightning Sprints, will make up the five classes which will be racing at the McCarthy Autogroup Show Me Spectacular on October 10, 2015.
