Week 22 of the I-35 Speedway racing season was all about the track. Numerous drivers, some fans, and the officials were praising the track team of Mike Knight and Mike Johnson for the exceptionally smooth and tacky racing surface. The track provided a tacky surface all throughout the night providing the fans with great side by side racing. Drivers were stating they could race high, low, and in the middle from heat race to feature.

Eight seven racecars were in competition for the seven winning trophies for the night. Sixteen heat races and seven feature events provided the fans the best value in racing for their money. The first race took the track at 7 o’clock and the A Mod feature ended at 10:15. In between those events was some of the greatest racing the track has seen this year.

In the E Mods the heat race winners would take the top three spots for the evening. Congrats to Matt Dorssom for his second victory this season. Colby Kearney #89k would take second with Corey Myers in third. Mich Ross extended his point lead with a win in the Hobby Stocks. Sammon Farms put up extra money for the Midwest Outlaw Vintage Racers in a special 20 lap feature. Father Jack Simmons would beat heat race winner and son Keith Simmons for the win. Donnie Brown would cut into the Grand National points lead of Buz Kaster by beating Buz to the checkered. Second in points Austin Johnson was third so this points battle is expected to go to the end of the season. B Mod points leader Tim Eaton would extend his lead even further by collecting the trophy for the night in this class. Stock Car point leader Dean Wray would follow Eaton’s strategy and claim the trophy to extend his point lead for the season. Finally, in the A Mod class we have our tenth different winner of the year in Robbie Reed from Mexico City, Missouri.

Seven weeks remain in the season with Champions crowned on October 24, 2015. October 10 will be the 6th Annual McCarthy Autogroup Show Me Spectacular with racers competing for thousands of dollars. We will also have a nickel drop for our young race fans coming on September 19 thanks to Ed and Nicole Noll and a few other racers.
We end the 2015 racing season with the I-35 Speedway banquet at the Cameron Community Center on November 14. Tickets for the banquet are available at the front gate and everyone is welcome to come. We have several special awards which we will be giving including a Super Fan award. Stay tuned to this program and the racing announcers on how we will accept nominations for this award.
